Matt Blowers

Managing Director, UK Fit Out, Continental Europe

Matt Blowers is the managing director for three of ISG’s major businesses – Fit Out Europe, UK Construction South and UK Hospitality. Matt is responsible for the strategy, delivery and customer experience across these diverse businesses and is responsible for over 600 people, turning over £650m annually with projects ranging from £100,000 to in excess of £200m in construction value across ISG’s core sectors.

Matt has been with ISG for over 19 years, joining as an assistant construction manager. On the back of numerous industry accolades, such as nomination for the CIOB Construction Manager of the Year Award for BP’s 20 Canada Square, and winning record-breaking appointments such as the 700,000 sq ft, high-tech 5 Broadgate fit out, Matt was promoted to managing director of ISG’s highly successful fit out business in 2014. Under Matt’s tenure, ISG has maintained its industry-leading position as the number one fit out contractor for offices in central London.

The London and south-east contracting business and UK hospitality business were also brought under Matt’s leadership in 2016. Bringing together these three separate but complementary businesses, under new common leadership, enabled Matt and his leadership teams to provide a plethora of benefits to clients and consultants looking to integrate the new build and fit out phases of projects. Benefits such as a deeper understanding of business drivers, less on-boarding time for the fit out team, better collaboration, accessing the industry’s best supply chain and most importantly, a uniquely qualified skill set for the refurbishment market.

Matt is passionate about putting clients at the heart of everything we do at ISG and has a steadfast dedication to delivering projects right first time, every time. He has been instrumental in ensuring that ISG is at the forefront of technology innovation such as BIM technologies. Matt played a key role in ISG’s Absolute Completion strategy, a programme of intensive improvements in quality management and project completions. With confidence in ISG’s ability to deliver a better product than the competition, Matt turned his attention to the customer journey. He pioneered the highly strategic customer experience programme in 2016, which, having been successfully trialled in ISG’s fit out business, will now be rolled out group-wide in 2017.

Matt hails from Lincolnshire. He may have relocated to London 20 years ago, but has never lost his roots or accent. In his spare time, Matt enjoys socialising, cycling and making sure that he gets to the gym four times a week.
