Significant Milestone for Selby

We celebrated a significant milestone this week for the new Selby leisure village as we celebrated the development's 'topping out' with Selby District Council. The next phase of the project will see the internal fitting out of the development begin before residents will be able to enjoy a six lane ten pin bowling, an adventure climbing facility with themed climbing panels up to 8 metres high, an adventure play zone with a dedicated area for babies and toddlers, aerial trekking ropes set above the indoor skate and BMX park and two indoor ski simulators when the centre opens next year.

Selby District Council’s Executive member with responsibility for Housing, Leisure, Health and Culture, Cllr Dave Peart commented: "This ceremony is a major milestone as we work to deliver these brilliant new facilities for our residents and visitors to the district. The day when we can start to enjoy the state of the art facilities is now significantly closer.”

Pete Burt, Managing Director of WLCT, said: “This is another exciting development for Selby which will enhance the town’s leisure offer, helping keep residents active and healthy. We’re really proud to be involved in the project and to be managing the facility once it’s up and running.”

Danny Murray, ISG’s Northern regional managing director, commented: “The new Selby Leisure Village is really starting to take shape and today’s event is a great opportunity to bring together key stakeholders involved in this keynote project to deliver outstanding new facilities to the town.”
