We created a new facility for cell therapy science. Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult is a place where academics, businesses and clinicians, with a special interest in cell therapies, work together to focus on the commercial development of cutting-edge technologies in cell therapy.
Our team faced the challenge of delivering a high-tech medical research and development facility in an occupied building that had aged mechanical and electrical installations as well as a high degree of asbestos.
We created a high end laboratory facility, designed and constructed to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards, complete with a dedicated plant room that delivers bespoke services to support the space.
We also created a state of the art office facility, for write up and administration work, with a floor-to-ceiling viewing area over the laboratory. The suite is supported by a new reception area and boardroom and cellular meeting facilities.
Take a tour around the finished laboratory and office space at Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult, completed in March 2014.
In this exclusive video, we talk to the Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult CEO, Keith Thompson, and Chief Operating Officer, Dr Stephen Ward. The video shows the facility’s unique mixed-use environment, incorporating open plan office space, meeting rooms, a kitchen area and a high-spec research laboratory.
