Creative Italian developer, Fabbriche Ceramiche, recognised the potential for this industrial building to be transformed into a creative hub dedicated for design and the arts in London.
ISG completely refurbished the existing building to create a gallery, and arts and design workshops. Externally, all of the façades were cleaned and repaired, with new weathering to façades and roofs generally. All windows were replaced with new large-pane windows to maximise natural light.
The building retained some original Victorian features, both internally and externally, which needed to be sensitively maintained, whilst creating modern additions. Existing steel beams and columns were retained and refurbished, and the original ceiling was exposed.
