Hotel design, the sharing economy and guests’ expectations were key topics at a special ISG event for representatives working in the hospitality sector.
The breakfast briefing, called Rest: assured, took place on 7 November 2017 at one of ISG’s fit out projects: The Langham, London, a five-star hotel in the capital’s West End.
ISG’s divisional director of UK Hospitality, Steven McGee, took part in a panel discussion which looked at a number of key issues affecting the industry, including how to build community in hotels and how to drive footfall.
Rest: assured was the first ISG event since the re-launch of the company’s UK hospitality division.
The event also featured guest contribution from Perkins+Wills’ director of hospitality, Tom Hupe.
Tom talked about how the industry needs to adapt to the changing nature and requirements of the guest, and also the growing competition from the ‘sharing economy’, in particular apps like Airbnb.
