The first sections of steel are being erected at the site of the new £39 million mixed-use development scheme at Liverpool’s Lime Street.
Steel contractor, Billington Structures, has installed the first sections of over 1,300 tonnes of steel that will be used to create the 33 metre tall student accommodation and 15 metre tall hotel.
The structures will take shape over the next few months with the frames expected to be completed in the autumn.
Ion Development, Liverpool City Council and Sigma Capital form the partnership behind the scheme with Ion Development delivering the project on behalf of the site owner, Curlew Student Trust.
Occupying a tightly constrained site adjacent to Lime Street Station, the scheme comprises five retail units at ground floor level and a 10-storey, 412-bed student accommodation block, totalling approximately 28,000 sq ft.
The development also includes a three-storey Premier Inn hotel with 101 guest rooms.
