In an incredibly candid and inspiring interview with Construction Manager, ISG CEO, Paul Cossell, shares how ISG is attracting new talent and harnessing technology and innovation in the industry.
In a new feature called ‘The CEO Interview’, Construction Manager magazine sat down with Paul to discuss ISG’s ground-breaking approach to recruitment, training and technology.
Paul shares how we are disrupting the construction industry and explains how our recruitment strategy is at the forefront of our success.
“We are in a revolution and things are moving very quickly,” says Paul.
“We need a balance of experience and lessons learned from people who have been around for a long time, but also the creativity and different ways of working that come from the younger generation.
“The skill for us is going to be making sure that we listen and we don’t block that potential.”
Paul talks about our work in promoting diversity in our business, shifting younger people’s perceptions of the construction industry and building on the great foundations and the talented people that make up #TeamISG.
He also discusses our technology-led approach and about the development of our industry-leading Level 3 Applied Diploma in Professional Construction Practice (PCP).
“We want to get to 16-year-olds and to show them that our sector is far more diverse and stimulating than they may perceive,” he says.
“Our Level 3 diploma is a way of doing that – it is an outstanding piece of work that will take you through the whole construction process.
“It also looks at technology and how it can influence and enhance what we do.”
