ISG’s One Mabledon Place project, also known as the Halo Building, has been shortlisted in the Health category at this year’s Architects Journal Retrofit Awards.

ISG’s One Mabledon Place project, also known as the Halo Building, has been shortlisted in the Health category at this year’s Architects Journal Retrofit Awards.

The awards recognise and celebrate design, engineering and construction excellence that prolongs and improves the life of the built environment.

The nomination completes a successful summer for the project, in which it received the Design for Adaptation and Transformation award at the European Healthcare Design Awards.

The complex project, which was delivered in partnership with Steffian Bradley Architects, saw ISG transform a 1970s office block into a state-of-the-art pathology laboratory at One Mabledon Place, London, for Healthcare Services Laboratories (HSL).

ISG was appointed in 2014 to create a facility that replicated HSL’s innovative, world-leading approach to diagnostics and pathology, as well as accommodate the world’s brightest researchers, doctors and scientists.
