ISG’s work to transform London’s iconic The O2 building into a high-end retail destination has been featured in a feature-length article by the trade publication, Building.
ISG’s project director, Fraser Tanner, said the work will ‘complete the circle’ at The O2 by installing over 80 new retail outlets which will link the building’s main entrance to the existing mall.
“We’ll have finished all of the steel-work by Christmas,” said Fraser.
Speaking to Building, Fraser acknowledged a number of challenges involved in working at the iconic venue, which has remained operational throughout the works.
“We targeted August because it was quiet,” he said.
“Then eighties band Bros booked the Arena out for two nights so we had to pour half of the slab, reinstate the hoarding and fit ramps to take people up onto the new slab, then once the gig had finished, we had to take all of the hoardings down so that we could continue with the pour.”
Construction is expected to be completed by the end of summer 2018.
