ISG recognised as world leader for supplier engagement on climate change

29 January 2018

ISG has been recognised by CDP as a global leader for engaging its supply chain to tackle carbon and climate change.

ISG has been recognised by CDP as a global leader for engaging its supply chain to tackle carbon and climate change.

ISG has been included on the 2018 Supplier Engagement leader board, which recognises those companies that have taken steps to reduce emissions and lower climate-related risks in their supply chains over the last year.

This year’s leader board is the second annual instalment to be compiled by CDP, the international, not-for-profit environmental organisation.

Out of the 3,300 companies who were assessed on their supply chain engagement strategies, only 58 earned a place on the leader board, putting ISG among just 2% to be recognised as leaders in the field.

The result shines a light on ISG’s commitment to demonstrating climate change leadership, as well as tackling carbon emissions in line with its 2020 Sustainability Vision, and its corporate goal of achieving optimal operational efficiency.

ISG also scored an ‘A-’ in the CDP climate change programme scores, released in late 2017.

Commenting on ISG’s inclusion on the Supplier Engagement leader board, Philippa Stone, group head of sustainability at ISG, said: “Tackling carbon emissions is a core priority for ISG, but we can only effect material change if we bring our supply chain partners along with us, as well as further encourage our wider industry to redouble its efforts towards a sustainable future.

“Recognition on the CDP’s Supplier Engagement leader board, for our corporate commitment to minimising the impact of ISG’s business activities on the climate is a great result, and gives us further impetus to engage with our wider construction industry partners to develop joint initiatives to tackle the challenge of carbon emissions.”
