ISG in Hong Kong is delighted to have received a gold award in the ‘Best Refurbishment and Maintenance Contractor in Occupational Safety and Health’ category at the 19th Construction Safety Forum and Award Presentation.

Jointly organised by the Occupational Safety and Health Council, Labour Department and several other associations in the construction industry, the awards recognise companies exercising best practice in occupational health and safety at construction sites.

ISG’s recently completed hospitality project, Yan Toh Heen at InterContinental Hong Kong, was shortlisted for the competition.

In May, a judging panel consisting of governmental officials visited the site, with the ISG team introducing its safety policies to them.

A well-organised safety plan and risk assessment, good housekeeping, personal protective equipment (PPE) and secure equipment used on the construction site impressed the judging panel, leading us to win the gold award, despite strong competition from over 20 entries from other well-known construction industry players.

Managing director of ISG in Hong Kong, Tim Threlkeld, commented: “Safety has always been a top priority for us. Kudos to our project teams who consistently work hard to ensure safety across every site, giving our customers peace of mind and gaining their trust.”

Tim continued: “The prestigious recognition from the judging panel leaves a lasting impact for us to further promote occupational health and safety in our workplaces.

“We strive to be the role model with the highest level of safety consciousness within the local construction industry.”
