ISG graduate Avnish Pankhania - Young Professional of the Year

A representative from the ISG graduate programme has been shortlisted in the Young Professional of the Year category at a regional awards ceremony.

Avnish Pankhania, who worked on the new build Erdington Leisure Centre project in Birmingham, was ‘highly commended’ at the Generation 4 Change (G4C) Constructing Excellence Midlands Awards on 14 November 2017.

Avnish said he was really proud to have been recognised.

“It’s great to have made it onto the shortlist with other inspiring young professionals, let alone being highly commended,” he said.

“Thanks to the team for their hard work and commitment in helping me succeed.

“I have learned a full range of skills that I will take into the next step of my career, as I have now been promoted to assistant site manager.”

Avnish, who works for ISG’s UK Construction West division, came up against stiff competition at the awards with five other industry professionals also shortlisted.

Rob Martin, managing director of UK Construction West, said: “Our graduate programme is designed around developing talent and delivering futures.

“It is focused on practical development, and on-the-job experience.

“It is great to see the way Avnish has embraced the programme.

“He has a clear passion for the construction industry and a hunger to succeed, and he connects with the community and his wider team.

“He has progressed quickly, and I am confident he will be one to watch in the future.”

Erdington Leisure Centre was completed for Serco on behalf of Birmingham City Council and is also funded by Sport England.
