ISG’s E by Equinox private members health club project has taken centre stage as part of a Premier Construction feature, which highlights how luxury facilities are changing the fitness world.
Premier Construction’s project spotlight describes E by Equinox, which was developed by ISG for influential American luxury fitness company, Equinox, as marking the fitness industry’s transition into the luxury market within central London.
Previously a restaurant and a bank, ISG’s Agility business completed a £5.7 million refurbishment and fit out of three levels of the St James’s Street building, work which has contributed to the facility’s status as one of the most exclusive private fitness clubs within the vast Equinox portfolio.
The luxury club, which represents Equinox's second venture in the UK and is described by Premier Construction as ‘superbly created within a stunning historic interior’, comprises an assortment of high quality fitness studios including a Pilates space, state-of-the-art free-weights area, cardio areas and a spa, as well as saunas, steam rooms, showers and changing rooms.
The original features of the historic building, including the striking marble archways, were sensitively restored and are now showcased in the finished space.
Gentry Long, managing director of UK operations for Equinox, said: “London’s health and fitness industry continues to thrive and there is an appetite for spaces where Londoners can truly commit to their health and wellbeing.
“E by Equinox St. James’s builds on the success of our flagship club in Kensington and answers a demand for the luxury Equinox lifestyle.”
Work was completed on the club in December 2017.
