We are happy to report that we’ve been making good progress on site and the roof of the new building is now complete with the external envelope including the walls and doors coming on nicely. We’ve now started work on dividing the building up with the internal partitions and we’ll soon be ready to move onto the installation of windows and the mechanical and electrical services.
We have also been busy with a number of site visits in recent weeks, with the new Eden School pupils and teachers plus two visits from Blackburn College brickwork students.
The school pupils and teachers have been regular visitors on site to watch the development of their new school and we’ve also had a visit from Considerate Constructors Scheme mascot, Ivor Goodsite.
The college students, from across years one and two of their studies, were given an introduction to the project, along with important health and safety requirements for bricklayers and details of the variety of access equipment we use. They were given a tour of the site and are planning to revisit the project at a later stage to see the progress made.
We’ve received some good feedback on the tours and look forward to the next round, providing us with further opportunities to support to future construction workforce as they continue their studies.Go back to Eden School microsite
