The project will involve extending the existing site and using the car parking area and also part of the Leamore playing fields to the rear of the existing site of the site for construction. The site will be re-instated as a car park area, together with landscaping and additional car parking will be created on Field Close car park adjacent to the site.
The new Bloxwich Leisure Centre will predominantly be a one- storey building and will be set partly on the Council’s existing site and partly the adjacent Leamore Park. The only two storey element of the building will be the central area, which will comprise the entrance area, the fitness suite, dance studio, meeting room and all ancillary facilities e.g. toilets and changing rooms, main centre entrance, café and bistro.View our blog

1) Whar car parking facilities will be provided?
- 10 motorcycle spaces
- 8 parent & child spaces
- 23 disable parking spaces

2) Is space taken by the hoarding line permanent as a lot of the playing field has been lost?
– No, the space currently identified by the site hoarding is to provide working space and area to store materials, it will be reduced a considerable amount.
3) Are works being undertaken to the junction of Brownhills Road & Coppice Road?
Yes, there will be a new signal controlled junction installed to control traffic allowing easy access to the newly formed entrance to the leisure centre.
4) Is the site being landscaped.
Yes, the existing trees to the current site boundary on Brownhills Road will be retained along with additional trees throughout the scheme. Newly shaped banks will be formed with resin bound footpaths for pedestrian access. A boundary fence will also be installed to the entire boundary of the new centre.
