Introduction

Luxury retailer, Louis Vuitton, asked us to extend their store in Kuala Lumpur’s high-end Starhill Gallery Shopping Mall. We increased the store’s square footage from 6,000 sq ft to 15,000 sq ft.

The front of the store is 46 metres wide and is located next door to the Marriott Hotel’s main entrance. It was important to maintain a minimal presence during the works to avoid disrupting the surrounding area. This was challenging, especially when transporting materials in and out of the site.

We closely co-ordinated with hotel operator, YTL Hotels, to make sure that we did not disturb nearby retail and hotel operations.

The project

Louis Vuitton were so impressed by our successful completion of their maison store in Singapore, they asked us to update their store in Kuala Lumpur – a tourist shopping mecca with 66 malls in its vicinity.

The project was delivered in three main phases. We worked in tandem with the millwork contractors, Redwood, and façade contractors, MBM. Our close collaboration with these specialist contractors was key in meeting construction deadlines.

The finished product was a magnificent two storey flagship store that opened to critical acclaim.
